Growing Conflict Over Voting Rights

"A growing conflict over voting rights is playing out in Georgia, where the presidential race is tightening"

A recent Washington Post article, "A growing conflict over voting rights is playing out in Georgia, where the presidential race is tightening", highlights the growing disputes over election laws and voting rights during this highly polarizing Presidential election.   Voting rights conflicts are playing out all across the country in places like North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio.

These disagreements illustrate the difficulty our current system and laws are having in resolving these issues.  Furthermore, these differences are creating public confusion and are even politicizing the election process and the local officials that oversee them.

Voting rights problems need addressing in order to validate and legitimize the election results beyond reproach.  It seems deregulation has led to confusion and conflict.  Thats why the Voting Rights Act needs to stretch beyond just affording voter rights, and actually needs to provide thorough bipartisan election guidelines and regulations that even account for varying local conditions.
