ProgressiveThoughtMatters is an advocacy group that believes that increased voter education and participation by previously under-represented groups will lead to a more progressive nation. Our organization is also committed to supporting public policy that results in a progressive agenda on issues such as fair wages for workers, educational equity, immigration rights, civil rights, environmental concerns, women’s issues and LGBT rights.
We will be working to make progressive changes in public policy. That means devoting the energy and time to voter registration, voter education and outreach, Get Out the Vote activities and direct support for progressive policies.
Our team will listen to innovative ideas on voter education, including information dissemination about voting rights, voter registration, participation in advocacy group activities and the impact of state and local election laws. More than anything else, we will practice inclusion of divergent thoughts and opinions each day.
Why Progressive Thought Matters
Across the nation, certain constituencies that support progressive movements and policies are often not part of the political process. Issues that impact fair wages for workers, educational equity, immigration rights, civil rights, environmental concerns, women’s issues, LGBT rights and other substantive issues are sometimes relegated to lower priorities. If motivated by advocacy positions and the ability to impact the political process, we believe that groups from these constituencies can change the direction of policies at all levels of government.
We will develop rapid response to pressing issues. Just as we have done in advocacy roles in the past, we will better define targeted messaging to reach those who will be impacted by public policy and enlist their support for changing the policy or being an advocate for its support. Our motto is based upon winning: “ProgressiveThoughtMatters….get there first.”

Our founder has used the following quote for well over two decades: “The politics of exclusion lead to the politics of defeat.” Simply put, when you exclude others, you run the risk of losing. That is a risk that we will not take. The stakes are too high.
